Recognition of the Recipient

The University of Manitoba Dental Alumni Association is pleased to announce the 2026 Alumni of Distinction Award winner: Dr. Chris Cottick.

We are proud to announce that Dr. Christopher Cottick has been named a 2026 Alumni of Distinction by the University of Manitoba Dental Alumni Association, one of the Association’s highest honors, recognizing outstanding achievement, leadership, and service. A general dentist practicing in Winnipeg, Dr. Cottick earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Manitoba in 1990 and completed a one-year internship at the Adult Dental Clinic at the Health Sciences Centre. Throughout his distinguished career, he has combined excellence in clinical practice with a deep commitment to education, mentorship, and professional leadership.

Dr. Cottick served as Section Head of Adult Dentistry at the Health Sciences Centre for 20 years and has been actively involved in teaching at the University of Manitoba Dr. Gerald Niznick College of Dentistry. Over the years, he has mentored countless dental students and played an important role in advancing dental education in Manitoba. His contributions to the profession also include service on the Manitoba Dental Association (MDA) Board of Directors, including a term as President of the MDA. Most recently, he has co-chaired the MDA’s Prairie Lights Dental Convention & Trade Show Committee, helping to support continuing education and professional development for dentists across the province.

Dr. Cottick will be honored at the 2026 Alumni of Distinction Awards Evening on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the Fort Garry Hotel in Winnipeg. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Cottick on this well-deserved recognition.
